Episode Summary
Teachers and Parents: Whether you don’t know anything about dyslexia; know about it, but don’t know what to do; or are well versed in all things dyslexia this is a MUST Listen episode. After discovering his youngest son had dyslexia, Mike joined the growing community of dyslexia advocates fighting for change in our education laws and school policies. He has been on IDA Central Ohio Board for over 10 years and currently serves as President. He lead the group to get HB 436, a dyslexia law, signed into Ohio law. He also worked with 5 public school districts to create the Dyslexia Roadmap which is a 55 page document to help for all schools as they work on addressing the needs for their dyslexia student population. Listen in as Mike not only shares a TON of valuable and free resources to anyone in the world, but also specifically describes the process and details of Connor’s Law, Ohio’s new dyslexia legislation.

The mission of Mindful Literacy Columbus is to provide 1:1 and small group literacy tutoring to children with dyslexia or who are at risk-for reading failure.
It is our vision to create a center where children can have access to high-quality, affordable tutoring no matter what. In our mind’s eye, this center would also be a place where adults can study our language together and where parents can find support.
